Neem is an evergreen plant native to India (Azadiracta Indica) that can grow up to 25 meters and is capable of producing small yellowish fruits containing one or more seeds, which represent the source from which the active ingredients used in the cosmetic and dermatological field are extracted.It is rich in oleic acid (44.21%), linoleic acid (19.01%) and saturated fats such as palmitic and stearic acid. It has strong antiseptic, antibacterial and insect repellent properties. Its active ingredient, azadirachtin, is an effective repellent and phagodeterrent against aphids and most plant parasites (including cochineal and spider mites) and is also useful against some fungal diseases.
