This colourless hygroscopic liquid is soluble inwater and polar organic solvents, but not simple hydrocarbons. Diethylenediamine(DETA) is commonly used in the manufacture of paper wet-strength resins,corrosion inhibitors, fuel additives, epoxy curing agents, fabric softeners andasphalt additives among other applications.
